[2025-2026] Finances
requirements are listed below

Demonstrating sufficient financial resources for the entire flight training program, as well as the initial six months of living expenses abroad, is essential when applying for a studentpilot visa to the United States or Canada. If an applicant is unable to prove their financial capacity to cover the program costs through personal funds, sponsorship, or loans, the visa application will be denied. Therefore, applicants must provide one of the following documents to substantiate their financial standing:

Personal Funds

  • Bank Statements: Applicants must show their own bank statements for the past 3-6 months to demonstrate available funds. These should cover:

    • Tuition fees for the entire program.

    • Living expenses for the initial 6 months (housing, food, transport, etc.).

    • If necessary, proof of funds should also be notarized or accompanied by a letter of explanation from the bank.

  • Savings or Investments: Applicants may also submit proof of savings accounts, investments, or liquid assets that can be converted into cash.

Sponsored Funds

If a family member, relative, or friend is sponsoring the applicant, the sponsor must provide:

  • Affidavit of Support: A notarized document from the sponsor confirming they will financially support the applicant for the entire duration of the program.

  • Sponsor’s Bank Statements: Recent bank statements from the sponsor to prove they have the financial means to support the student.

  • Tax Returns or Pay Stubs: To demonstrate the sponsor’s income and financial stability.

Loan Funds

Other Proofs

  • Scholarships or Grants: If the student has been awarded a scholarship or grant to help cover some or all of the expenses, provide proof of the scholarship amount and the terms of the grant.

  • Payment History or Plan: If the program allows installment payments, a letter from the flight school confirming the payment schedule can be included.

Important Considerations:

  • Exact Amounts: You’ll need to demonstrate that you have enough funds for both the tuition fees and living expenses in full for the entire duration of the program.

  • Currency: Make sure that the financial documentation is clear about the currency, and in the case of foreign currencies, provide a conversion to USD or CAD.

  • Visa Interview: Be prepared to discuss the source of your funding during your visa interview. The consulate may also request additional supporting documents or clarification.

If applying for a loan to cover the costs, the loan approval letter from the financial institution must be provided, which should include:

  • The amount of the loan granted.

  • Conditions or terms of repayment.

  • The institution’s contact details for verification.
